Significant National Weather

South
Heavy rains are forecast from the southern Appalachians through the eastern Tennessee Valley and to the northwest Gulf of Mexico. Severe thunderstorms and rainfall accumulations of one to three inches are possible in southeast Louisiana, southeast Mississippi and central Alabama.
West
Light rain and mountain snow is expected over parts of the Northern and Central Rockies and High Plains. The Washington Cascades may see snow accumulations up to 6 inches and winds between 30-40 mph with gusts over 55 mph. A different low pressure system will produce more coastal rain and mountain snow over the Pacific Northwest and then move inland to the Northern and Central Rockies tonight into Tuesday. In the Southwest, locally strong northwest winds will continue as high pressure in the Great Basin extends eastward.
Northeast
Light showers are expected throughout New England, northeast Pennsylvania, eastern New York and southwest Virginia.
Midwest
Scattered light rain and snow showers are expected across northern Michigan, parts of the Great Lakes, and the western portions of the Dakotas and Nebraska.
