Significant National Weather

South
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast for portions of Arkansas and Louisiana. The tail end of a front moving offshore in the Atlantic will stall over Florida keeping rain and thunderstorms in the area until Thursday.
Northeast
Strong winds expected across the eastern Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, and southern New England with the possibility of wind gusts over 50 mph in some areas. Thunderstorms are forecast across New England and locally heavy downpours are possible across Pennsylvania and New York. Light snow showers are possible over parts of the upper Great Lakes, a rain/snow mix is expected over the lower Great Lakes and rain is likely over parts of the central Appalachians.
Midwest
Scattered light snow is forecast from the central High Plains into the western Central Plains. Rain will fall over the eastern part of the Central Plains and eventually move into the middle/lower Mississippi Valley by Wednesday evening.
West
Montana will see 2-4 inches of snow, while Colorado snow totals may reach 6-10 inches. Light to moderate rain will develop over portions of the Pacific Northwest, and heavy snow is expected in the higher elevations.

Earthquake Activity

On Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at 10:51 EST, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake occurred three miles from Mossyrock, WA, and 47 miles from Tacoma, WA, at a reported depth of 9.1 miles. There were no reports of damage or injuries. (FEMA HQ)
