NortheastÂ*
A mix of wintry precipitation will spread across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast today. Freezing rain and sleet will transition to rain this morning across Maryland, D.C., and Northern Virginia, and as far north as Upstate New York and southern New England by this evening. Moderate snow accumulations are expected in the higher elevations of New York, New Jersey, and New England.

Rain and snow will impact much of the eastern United States, including the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys and Upper Midwest today. Lake-effect snow is expected to continue in northwest Indiana throughout the day. Freezing rain overnight is expected to transition to all snow in Lower Michigan, where 1-3 inches are possible.
SouthÂ*
Most of the region will be dry except some scattered showers in portions of Florida; severe weather is not expected.
WestÂ*
A new system will move onto the Pacific Northwest coast this morning, bringing rain and snow showers to Washington and Oregon. Periods of rain, freezing rain, and snow are expected to continue across much of southern Montana and northern Wyoming where some areas could receive snow accumulation of few inches through mid week.

Recent heavy rainfall, ice jams, and snowmelt runoff produced sharp rises along many of the rivers and streams in eastern Washington and eastern Oregon. Cooler air moving into the region will help prevent additional snowmelt runoff and water levels are expected to recede in most rivers over the next few days. Limited evacuations and infrastructure damage is reported in Clackamas County, Oregon due to snowmelt flooding from the Sandy River. In Washington State, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Seattle Districtâs flood fight teams are on alert or deployed to provide levee monitoring along the Green, White, Puyallup, Chehalis, Yakima and Snohomish Rivers. There are no current concerns for local dams or levees. FEMA Region X and the Bothell MERS Operations Center are at a Watch/Steady State. There are no requests for FEMA assistance.
