Homeland Security Threat Level: YELLOW (ELEVATED)

Significant National Weather

South:
Rain is forecast for northern Florida and the coastal Southeast where totals could top 1 inch in some areas. Rain will change to snow before ending across the Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachians. Snow accumulations will range from 1 to 3 inches.
Midwest:
Two separate storms will affect the Midwest today. The storm moving toward the Northeast will bring snow, initially mixed with rain in Kentucky, and then will move into the Great Lakes and Ohio Valley. The storm from out of the Northwest will bring snow across South Dakota and Nebraska. Accumulations in both parts of the region will range from 1 to 4 inches. Temperatures will vary from near average to 25 degrees below average. Highs will peak from near zero in North Dakota to the 30s in the Ohio Valley.
Northeast:
Snow will be on the increase from northern Pennsylvania to northern New England due to a storm approaching from the Midwest and Southeast. Rain, mixed with snow is forecast from central and southwestern Pennsylvania to West Virginia and western Virginia. Snow accumulations will range from 1 to 4 inches.
West:
A windy storm will move southeastward through the Northwest today. Showers and mountain snow will extend from Washington to Utah. Snow will increase from eastern Idaho and Montana southward to the Colorado Rockies. Additional snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are likely in the Washington Cascades, northern Rockies and the high Plains of central Montana. Temperatures will be well below average in Montana and New Mexico; highs will be in the single digits in Montana.Â*

Natural Gas service interruption â Arizona, New Mexico and Texas

The natural gas restoration efforts for Arizona and New Mexico are ongoing.Â* The situation has stabilized and no new outages have been reported.Â* The New Mexico EOC remains at Level III (monitoring), the NM Governorâs declared State of Emergency remains in effect. The NM National Guard is assisting with Incident Command. The Arizona EOC remains partially activated.Â* Local shelters will remain open until natural gas has been restored. There have been no requests for FEMA assistance.Â*
