Significant National Weather
West:
A front moving towards the southeast will produce rain and snow from eastern Washington and Oregon to Idaho and western Montana by midday. Locally heavier snowfall is forecast for portions of the Sierras and the Grand Tetons.
Midwest:Â*
A low pressure system will bring snow to the Mid-Mississippi Valley and several inches of snow are likely across parts of Michigan and Ohio.
South:
The region will remain generally dry under a large high pressure area. Red Flag Warnings are possible along much of the Florida Peninsula this afternoon.
Northeast:
Rain will linger in northern New England with snow showers forecast from Upstate New York to Central Appalachians. River flooding is possible for portions of Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania. Surface winds across the Great Lakes will cause lake effect snow east of Lakes Superior, Erie and Ontario bringing some areas up to three feet of snow and a foot or more to Buffalo, NY. The snow will continue through tomorrow for areas downwind of the Great Lakes.

Severe Weather Outbreak
On December 1, 2010, severe thunderstorms and gusty winds across the Mid-Atlantic region caused flooding, downed power lines, transportation delays, and numerous power outages. There are no requests for FEMA assistance.
