Significant National Weather:

West:
The Pacific Northwest will have light to moderate precipitation through mid-week. Higher elevations will have snow, with 5-10 inches expected in the Cascade Range. High pressure will continue to bring sunny and clear conditions throughout California and the Southwest.
Midwest:
A wintry mix is forecast for portions of the Northern Plains, the Upper Mississippi Valley and the Great Lakes. Steady rain is forecast to begin tomorrow morning in the Great Lakes region. Snow is expected from southern Missouri northeastward through the Upper Ohio Valley.
South:
The frontal system across the northern Gulf of Mexico is expected to continue bringing widespread rain to the Deep South. This storm is forecast to gain strength as it moves across the Gulf Coast into the Tennessee Valley today. Tomorrow, the rain will move to the Southeast Coast with the developing frontal system.
Northeast:
Snow in the interior sections of the region will taper off today as the low pressure system moves off the New England Coast. Tomorrow, the low pressure system moving out of the Tennessee Valley will bring widespread rain to the Mid-Atlantic and a wintry mix of rain and snow to New England.

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck at 11:48 p.m. EST on Sunday, December 25 approximately 244 miles southwest of Pago, Pago, American Samoa at a depth of 49 miles. There are no early reports of damage or injuries and no tsunami was generated.
