Significant National Weather

South
Light rain is expected along the Carolina coastline. Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are possible over the Florida Peninsula through early Saturday. The Southern Plains will experience temperatures with highs in the 40s.
Northeast
A series of weak Clipper systems will bring snow showers through the region this weekend. Lake-induced snows can be expected downwind of Lake Ontario. Temperatures will be seasonably cold with lows falling into the teens and lower 20s.
Midwest
Light snow over portions of the Northern Plains will move eastward to the Great Lakes, producing one to two inches of snow east of Lake Michigan by Friday night. Highs around the Great Lakes will reach the 20s while the Ohio Valley will see highs in the 30s.
West
Light rain and higher elevation snow are expected over portions of the Pacific Northwest on Friday evening. Heavier amounts will fall across the windward slopes of the Olympics and Cascades. Winter Storm Recovery - Final

The winter storm that impacted the eastern two-thirds of the country moved out Thursday, bringing precipitation to an end and beginning a warming trend for this weekend.

Joint Preliminary Damage Assessments are underway in Massachusetts, New Mexico and Missouri.
Disaster Declaration Activity

Oregon
The Governor of Oregon requested a major disaster declaration Feb. 10, 2011, for the state as a result of a severe winter storm, including heavy rainfall and snowmelt that resulted in flooding, mudslides, landslides, debris flows, erosion and locally windy conditions during the period of Jan. 13-21, 2011. The Governor is specifically requesting Public Assistance for Clackamas, Clatsop, Crook, Douglas, Lincoln, and Tillamook counties and Hazard Mitigation statewide.
Oklahoma
The emergency declaration for the state of Oklahoma emergency declaration is now closed, effective February 5, 2011 (FEMA-3316-EM-OK, Amendment #1). The incident period for this disaster is January 31 - February 5, 2011.Â* (FEMA)
