Significant National Weather

Midwest
Thunderstorms - a few severe â are likely as rich moisture from the Gulf of Mexico interacts with a frontal wave resulting in afternoon and evening thunderstorms across portions of the Midwest
West
Across the northern Rockies, snow showers and possible thundersnow can be expected across the northern Continental Divide --an area with a late and significant snow pack. Valley thunderstorms are expected across the Northwest and Great Basin
.Â*
South
For Texas and the northwest Gulf Coast, dry conditions are expected to continue as a warm core ridge rebuilds across the region.Â* Temperatures are expected to continue rising to near 110 degrees each afternoon across the Trans-Pecos region of Texas into Sunday.
An upper disturbance combined with an increasing moisture supply from the Atlantic Ocean should lead to afternoon and evening thunderstorms across much of Florida, southern Georgia, southern Alabama with early morning activity expected in the keys.
Northeast
A weak frontal system will move across the region leading to thunderstorms from the mid-Atlantic states into New England over the next couple days.
Tropical Weather Outlook

Atlantic / Caribbean / Gulf of Mexico
No activity expected within the next 48 hours.
Eastern / Central PacificÂ*
Area 1
A broad area low pressure, located several hundred miles south of the Gulf of Tehuantepec, has not been producing concentrated shower and thunderstorm activity for the last day or so. However, the low-level circulation is slowly becoming better defined, and environmental conditions still appear generally conducive for development of this system during the next couple of days. There is a medium chance, 40 percent, of this system becoming a tropical cyclone over the next 48 hours as it moves West-northwestward at 5 to 10 mph. Elsewhere, tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 48 hours.
